A Co Derry pub will be highlighted to millions of people around the world in Tourism Ireland’s latest Game of Thrones campaign.

Episode five of the sixth season of hugely popular series aired on Monday night last and Tourism Ireland unveiled its fourth ‘Door of Thrones’ this week in Frank’s (Owens) Bar in Limavady.

The central element of Tourism Ireland’s GoT campaign – now in its fifth week – is a series of beautifully engraved doors, each of which tells the story of a different episode of this season.

The doors are being unveiled by Tourism Ireland each week as the series unfolds – in restaurants, pubs and other venues near Game of Thrones filming locations.

This week’s door in Frank’s Bar features several striking designs, immortalising the Night’s King. It is near Dragonstone – the filming location otherwise known as Downhill Strand.

Earlier this year, Tourism Ireland saved the wood from two trees at the Dark Hedges – known in Game of Thrones as the Kingsroad – which fell during Storm Gertrude.

The wood was then used to make a series of 10 beautifully engraved doors, each one telling the story of the latest episode in season six.

The campaign is also being rolled out by Tourism NI in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
