Former heavyweight boxer Martin Rogan today travelled to Derry to challenge a ‘Twitter troll’ who had abused him online.
Derry Now has learned that Rogan (pictured above) arrived at the man’s work this morning and asked for him by name.
However, the man did not come out to speak to 45-year-old Rogan, who is from Belfast, and a tense situation ensued.
The matter was eventually resolved and Rogan left.
Today’s drama is believed to have all stemmed from a comment the local man made on Twitter about Rogan, a former Irish heavyweight and Commonwealth boxing champ.
Writing on his Twitter account after the incident, Rogan told his 12,300 followers that it was ‘all sorted’.
He said it was a warning to other people on Twitter that they could argue on the social media outlet, but not make ‘abusive sick comments’.
