Construction work on a new Derry retail store is set to begin in two weeks time
Part of the former ‘Budget’ building at the junction of Strand Roadand Buncrana Road will be demolished to make way for a Home Bargains store on the site.
The new store will create 100 jobs.
The demolition work is expected to begin in the week of Monday, June 13.
The ‘Budget’ building has been empty since the DIY chain closed the store in 2006 with the loss of 30 jobs.
Home Bargains stores sell a wide range of products, from health and beauty products to household goods, food and toys
The company has almost 400 stores throughout Britain and Northern Ireland.
