With temperatures set to remain high in Derry over the weekend, the organisers of Sunday’s Walled City Marathon in the city have appealed to the members of the public to help them keep the 1,500 competitors cool during the 26.2 mile challenge.
They say they are looking for locations along the route that can accommodate sprinklers.
A spokesperson said they were “calling out” to the people to see if anyone living along the course would be interested in helping out.
The spokesperson added: “Particularly if your garden or home runs parallel to or adjacent to the course.
“Please get in touch as we could be doing with your tap!”
