A Derry company today said it would be making 10 employees redundant after losing a contract.
Sphere Global, which is based at Campsie, designs state-of-the-art automation solutions.
The company, which employs around 80 people, recently won the Growth for Export Award at the North West Business Awards.
However, staff were told yesterday that some jobs are to be cut.
The company said that owing to the loss of one contract, about ten jobs will be lost.
Founding director Sean McNicholl said: "I very much regret that because of the loss of one existing contract, Sphere Global is having to make ten people redundant.
"We are continuing to discuss the situation with the employees concerned.
"We have several other contracts in place, which are performing well and the vast majority of our staff will not be affected.
"I would like to stress that all employees have been paid in full and fully up to date. The company is financially strong.
"We have recently won new contracts, which will begin in a few months time.
"Sphere Global is a sound company, a good employer and has strong prospects for continued growth."
