Derry owner Paul Ellis will be hoping for third-time lucky when he makes his third Greyhound Derby Final in 12 months tonight.
As the owner of Farloe Blitz, beaten in last year’s English and Irish finals, the local butcher (pictured) will be hoping to go one better and land the spoils as an outsider rather than the favourite with Hiya Butt in the William Hill Derby being run at Wimbledon tonight.
The winner off the race – being shown live on Sky Sports 5 at 9.08pm – will take home £150,000.
The runner-up will get £20,000, 3rd £15,000, 4th £12,500 and 5th £11,000,
Hiya Butt has been drawn in trap five and is currently fourth favourite, priced at 7/1.
