Man accused to trying to force-feed dog food to partner remanded in custody

A 30-year-old Derry man who allegedly got his dog to bite the feet of his partner and tried to force-feed her dog food has been refused bail.

Jonathan Coups, from Glenside Road, appeared at Derry Magistrates Court charged with grievous bodily harm, setting a dog on another person and unlawful imprisonment.

Tho offences are alleged to have occurred on May 23 this year.

A police officer told the court he could connect the accuse to the charges.

District Judge Barney McElholm refused bail.

Coups was remanded in custody to appear in court again on 7 July.
