A 53-year-old woman who fraudulently claimed over £37,000 in benefits has been given a conditional discharge.
Derry Crown Court heard Maria Brown (53), from Ballymagowan Avenue in the Creggan area of the city,, claimed Income Support and Housing Benefit totalling £37,727 while failing to declare capital.
She was given an 18 month conditional discharge.
She is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Department for Communities.
