Two Derry principals are among those recognised in the Queen’s birthday honours list.
Anne McDowell, principal of Galliagh Nursery School, and Terry McMaster, principal of Drumahoe Primary School, have both received an MBE for their services to education.
Other local people to be recognised include Derry solicitor Gerard Guckian who receives an MBE for his services to health through his role for many years as chair of the Western Trust.
Local community worker William O’Donnell has been granted a British Empire Medal in recognition of his worker.
