East Derry Sinn Féin MLA Caoimhe Archibald has welcomed confirmation from the Agriculture Minister that the new departmental headquarters at Ballykelly is proceeding on schedule.
Design work is ongoing and builders are due on site in September this year, with expected completion of construction at the end of next year.
Ms Archibald said: "This is a hugely important project for the local area announced by my party colleague Michelle O'Neill when she was agriculture minister.
"I also welcome the news the minister has plans in place for staff relocation and to ensure business will not be disrupted."
Meanwhile, the Minister Michelle McIveen has said the majority of staff at the headquartersdo not want to move to a new base in Co Derry.
