Football fans in Derry have failed to take advantage of games from the European Championship Finals in France being shown live on a big screen in the city centre.
As this photo shows, Paul “Cutsy” Cutliffe cut a lone figure in Waterloo Place last night as he cheered on Ireland to victory over Italy.
It was a similar story for previous games.
One fan, who enjoyed the game with hundreds of others in in a nearby pub, quipped: “It was not as empty for the Belgium game, the place was packed… with pigeons!”
Last week, it emerged plans to create a “Fan Zone” at the city centre location for the upcoming Olympic Games have been abandoned.
