A Derry councillor has expressed her anger after a stolen car was set on fire in the Galliagh area of the city.
The silver Nissan (pictured) was abandoned and torched on the green area between Fern Park and the Leafair playing pitches off Glengalliagh Road at around 4.15am yesterday..
It had been stolen a short time earlier in a creeper style burglary in the Talbot Park area of the city
Sinn Fein councillor for the area, Sandra Duffy, hit out at those responsible.
She said: “This is an outrage once again on our community with anti-community elements wrecking people's hard earned property.
“It is absolutely ridiculous that local children had to pass the burnt out car on their way to school .”
