Gareth McElduff (far right), CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager. being presented with a cheque for £2,597.25 from Gary McCrossan, who completed the Walled City Marathon held earlier this month in memory of his nephew Caolán McCrossan.

Caolán (13), a pupil at St Columb’s College, died on 17 February last yearfrom a cancer rarely seen in children.

His passing took place just over a week after the death of his uncle, well-known Derry city tour guide, Martin McCrossan.

Earlier this month, over 500 people took part in sponsored 5k walk/run held in memory of Caolan.

All money raised from that event will also be donated to CLIC Sargent, the charity which supported Caolán and his family during his illness.

Included in the above photo is Caolán’s father Sean (far left) and brother Eóin.

This fundraising amount is just the one of many that has been raised through the Caolán McCrossan Memorial Fund by family and friends in aid of CLIC Sargent.
