A man has been rescued after his boat broke down on the River Foyle.
Members of the Foyle Search and Rescue’s Emergency Response Team, with two rescue boats and a land crew, responded after being contacted by phone that a person on board a broken down vessel close to the Peace Bridge needed “immediate assistance.”
The boat was located within minutes and was towed to the platoon next to the offices of Derry City and Strabane District Council where it was secured and the man returned safely to shore.
The incident occurred at around 7.15pm last night but details have just been released.
