Derry-based Foyle Cycling Club has taken a giant step to retaining the North West Inter-Club League title with a strong performance on the Galdonagh circuit in Donegal.
Hosted by Four Masters Cycling Club, this round was the penultimate race in the series of six, with the final and deciding night of racing scheduled for the Maggies circuit near Strabane on Wednesday next, 13 July.
Foyle continued their excellent form in this year's league with Ronan McLaughlin winning the A1, A2 and A3 categories. In the A4 category race,
Thomas McLaughlin took top spot and in the final race of the evening in the Limited Competition category, Foyle took six of the top ten spots, including Jack Quigley coming in second and Terry McLaughlin third.
With only one race to complete the league series, Foyle hold a six-point lead over Errigal Cycling Club, with Four Masters Cycling Club a further four points back in third.
The clubs now move on to the Maggies Circuit, where the league will be decided.
