The announcement from Health Minister Michelle O'Neill that new drugs for rare conditions will be available for eligible patients in the North, has been welcomed by Foyle Sinn Fein MLA Raymond McCartney.
Mr McCartney (pictured)said he approval for “new and innovative” drugs to treat conditions such as Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy in children would make a “huge difference to people's lives.”
He added: "Everyone acknowledges there are financial pressures on the health system and that these drugs are expensive and I congratulate Minister O'Neill for engaging with the public and making these drugs available."
