Man treated in hospital after sustaining multiple injuries in daylight assault

Police in Derry are investigating an assault which resulted in a 26-year-old man sustaining multiple injuries.

The incident happened at around 4.00pm on Friday last in the Old Fort area of Strathfoyle.

The victim was assaulted by two males whilst in a house.

He sustained multiple injuries, which required hospital treatment.

Appealing for information, Detective Constable Tony Douglas asked anyone who had any information about the assault to contact detectives at Reactive and Organised Crime at Strand Road on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 887 21/07/16.

He added: “Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
