Police hunt duo after man beaten and robbed in early morning attack

Police in Derry are investigating a robbery which occurred in Derry’s Bogside area at the weekend.

A PSNI spokesperson said the man reported he had a sum of money stolen when he was attacked by two males in Rossville Street at around 5.00am on Sunday.

The man did not sustain serious injuries as a result of the incident.

One of the attackers is described as being aged in his early 30’s, around 5’7” tall, slim build and was wearing light coloured clothes.

The second is described as being around 5’4” tall, aged in his early 20’s, medium build and was wearing blue coloured clothing.

Detective Sergeant Brian Reid has appealed for anyone with any information about the incident to contact detectives at Strand Road on 101 quoting reference 409 24/07/16.

He added information could also be given anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
