A fund has been set up to support the family of a Derry teenager who has died suddenly.
Ryan Higgins, from the Creggan area, passed away in Altnagelvin Hospital yesterday.
Among those who have donated to the fundraising effort is Republic of Ireland international, James McClean, who has pledged £1,000.
Tara Corkery set up the online fundraiser to support Ryan’s family through what she described as their “difficult time.”
The page was initially set up to raise £2,000 with that target being reached in less than 24 hours.
As a result, Tara has increased the target to £3,000.
She said: “Incredibly we have reached our initial target of £2000. I have now increased the target to allow anyone who wishes to continue donating you can do so, thank you Derry for your unbelievable support.”
