The Saturday Club in Campsie has been working hard on a piece of artwork to be revealed along the river bank.

It is part of a reimaging initiative by Campsie Residents’ Association for the area which aims to show good relations in motion.

The Housing Executive has been funding the project which will see a ceramic mural unveiled in the area later this month.

As part of the creative process the artist worked with a range of groups from the area including the young people in the Saturday Club who designed the border for the final mosaic.

The club’s members are cutting, sewing and painting to create bunting, flags and art for display during the unveiling celebration.

Hazel McGuigan from Campsie Residents’ Association, said:“The Saturday Club only joined us at the Hub at the start of this year. We were delighted they wanted to be part of the mosaic project and have proved a creative tour de force with their ideas for the mosaic, flags, paintings and bunting.
