Derry actress and producer Roma Downey is to get her very own star on the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame later this month.
She will be honoured on August 11 when her star will be laid alongside Hollywood greats such as Elvis Presley and Marilyn Monroe.
Leron Gubler, Hollywood Chamber president and chief executive, said they were “thrilled” to honour the former Thornhill College pupil.
He added: "She has been a force in the business of entertainment, both as an actress and talented producer."
It is the latest accolade to come the way of the 56-year-old.
Earlier this year she was presented with the inaugural Irish Diaspora Award by the Irish Film and Television Academy in recognition of her extraordinary achievements and vision as both a producer and an actress alongside her charity and humanitarian work worldwide.
In 2014, she received the honorary degree of Doctor of Fine Art (DFA) from the Ulster University at Magee (Derry) for her outstanding contribution to acting and philanthropy.
The Hollywood Walk of Fame, which attracts millions of visitors each year, is made up of more than 2,500 five-pointed terrazzo and brass stars embedded in the sidewalks along 15 blocks on Hollywood Boulevard and three blocks on Vine Street.
The stars are spaced at six-foot (1.8m) intervals, and honour people noted for outstanding achievement in the entertainment industry.
