A heavily pregnant Derry woman charged with burglary has been ordered to reappear in court on the day she is due to give birth.
Lizzie McMenamin (23), from Strand Foyer, and Siobhan Whelan (25), from Drumard Park, are both charged with burglary.
Whelan is further charged with assault on police.
The burglary is alleged to have taken place on May 10 this year when they are said to have entered another flat in the Strand Foyer as trespassers and stole a TV, an XBox and games.
A police constable told Derry Magistrates Court today he could connect both accused to the charges.
Derry Magistrates Court was told the charges would be contested.but Whelan would admit to the assault charge.
Defence solicitor Tom McClafferty made the judge aware that McMenamin was heavily pregnant, with her due date in two days time.
District Judge Paul Copeland released the pair on continuing bail and ordered them to appear again on Friday.
