A Co Derry man, one of 10 republicans who died in the Long Kesh hunger strike 35 years ago, is to be remembered this weekend.
IRA member Thomas McElwee died on 8 August 1981 after 62 days on hunger strike.
From Bellaghy, the 23-year-old was the second last of the 10 hunger strikers to die.
He had been serving a 20 year jail sentence for murder and possession of explosives.
A commemoration event being held in his home village this Sunday will include an historical re-enactment incorporating drama and music as part of the 1916 Easter Rising centenary programme.
The commemoration will begin with a parade through the village, leaving the Gulladuff Road junction at 2.30pm.
