During his last day in office Gerard Guckian today, outgoing chairperson of the Western Health and Social Care Trust, took the opportunity to show his successor, Niall Birthistle, around Altnagelvin’s new Radiotherapy Centre.
It is an exciting time for all involved with the Radiotherapy project as it draws closer to the completion with preparation for the beginning of services in late autumn.

Alan Moore, Director of Strategic Capital Development, gave Mr Guckian and Mr Birthistle a guided tour of the building during which they were updated on how construction and patient services were progressing.
They also visited the treatment area where they met Alberto Ciarmatori, who recently moved from Italy to take up a medical physics post at the Centre.
