A politician has called for an end to military training at a County Derry beach which involves live bullets being fired.
Sinn Féin MLA Caoimhe Archibald has criticised a British military live firing exercise in Magilligan on Wednesday evening.
She said: “British military exercises should not be taking place here full stop and it is very unwelcome that this exercise involving live firing was scheduled at the height of the tourism season.
“We want to promote this area as an attractive place to visit, British military manoeuvres are not conducive to that image.
"Sinn Féin want to see full demilitarisation in all its forms across the north, with no exceptions, and I will be raising this incident, and the potential for future exercises, with the NIO in coming days."
