A 14-year-old boy charged with damaging a lifesaving defibrillator in the Waterside area of Derry last weekend was released on bail when he appeared at city’s Magistrates Court this morning.
The boy, who cannot be named because of his age, was charged with criminal damage.
He was released on his own bail of £100 to secure accommodation to be approved by Social Services and the PSNI.
The case will be back in court again on Tuesday week, 6 September.
The boy is excused from attending.
The defibrillator was removed from its storage container at the Curry’s Spar store in Church Meadows before being destroyed in the early hours of Sunday morning last.
