A unique charity event is literally giving people the chance to ‘come up the Foyle in a bubble’.
The term is often used in Derry to imply that someone is not falling for a tall tale.
However, a charity is now using it in a literal sense to give people an opportunity to take part in a fun event on the local river.
On Sunday, October 2, CLIC Sargent NI is organising the ‘Rollin’ on the River’ event.
The charity, which supports the families of children with cancer, is looking for teams of four people to take part in the event.
The aim is to complete as many rotations as possible against the clock.
Registration costs £20 per person with a minimum sponsorship of £30 also required.
Gareth McElduff, CLIC Sargent Fundraising manager, said they were excited to bring this event to the city.
“The support the charity has received over the years is second to none and I know Derry ones will be up for the challenge,” he said.
“Move fast though as spaces are limited and don’t worry if you cant get a team of four, get a mate and we will fit you in somewhere we promise.”
To register for the event, visit the charity’s Facebook page for further details and follow the link or contact Gareth on gareth.mcelduff@clicsargent.or.uk.
