A sponsored walk will be held this weekend in memory of one of Derry’s best known sporting figures.
Jon Clifford formed Tristar Football Club in 1974.
The club has catered for hundreds of young footballers since then and today remains one of the biggest clubs in the city.
Jon, who was affectionately known as ‘Ugg,’ died five years ago.
To mark the fifth anniversary of his death, Tristar are organising a sponsored walk on Saturday.
The walk will set off from Magee football pitches at 1.30pm.
Walkers will make their way to the Jon ‘Ugg’ Clifford Park at Marlborough Terrace which was previously known as Bull Park but was renamed after ‘Ugg’.
The entry fee for the walk is £5 for adults and £3 for children.
All proceeds from the event will be donated to the British Lung Foundation.
