The Derry/Donegal heat for The All Ireland Poetry Slam Championship will be held in Derry at Sandinos bar on Saturday, September 10, at 5pm.
All local wordsmiths, performance poets, rappers, ranterss and ravers are welcome to enter and compete for a place in The Ulster Slam Final.
Poems must be original and last no longer than three minutes, and must be performed solo without accompaniment.
Dependent on the number of entrants on the day, there will be two or three rounds, with judges choosing the winner and runner up who will both proceed on to the Ulster Poetry Slam Final in Enniskillen at Blakes Of the Hollow on Saturday, October 1, at 5pm.
The local heat will be hosted by performance poet and comedian Frank Rafferty (pictured above).
Other heats which lead to the Ulster final are scheduled to be held in Belfast, North Down, Antrim, Mid-Ulster, Derry/Donegal, Omagh/Strabane, Cavan and Monaghan.
