A series of images depicting the First World War have replaced sectarian murals in the Fountain area of Derry.
The re-imaging project, supported by the Housing Executive, transformed the exterior walls of the Fountain’s Cathedral Youth Club, pictured above.
Jeanette Warke from the local youth club said: “The re-imaging will be a catalyst for physical, social and economic regeneration within the Fountain area and Cathedral Youth Club is keen to build on cross-community relations with other youth groups in the area.
“Within the area, 99 local men were recruited and fought in the war. These murals will bear a lasting testimony to the memory of the men that fought in the Great War during its centenary year.”
Housing Executive Good Relations Officer, Eddie Breslin, said: “We are delighted to support this reimaging project, which we hope will encourage young people from outside the Fountain to participate in cross-community projects.”
