The ‘Peace Flame’ close to Derry’s Guildhall has been damaged.
Police are appealing for information following an incident of criminal damage at the Peace Flame monument in the Foyle Street area of Derry.
It was reported this afternoon that glass had been cracked on the monument and it is believed that this would have occurred in the previous several days.
A police spokesperson said: “I would appeal for anyone with any information about this incident to contact Strand Road Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 855 of 13/09/16.
“Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
