Cusack encourages applications for Airtricity Scholarship

Derry SDLP Cllr Shauna Cusack has encouraged students to apply for help with their future fees from the SSE Airtricity Scholarship Fund.

The fund has a total annual value of around £80,000 which will give up to 20 students support totalling 50% of their Third Level Student Fees from University of Ulster and South West College.

Cllr Cusack (pictured): “This is an excellent opportunity for some lucky students to alleviate some of the financial burden and debt now associated with higher education.

“I welcome the assistance that SSE Airtricity are providing with this scheme and I would encourage anyone with an unconditional offer of a place on the first year of a qualifying undergraduate and postgraduate, part-time and full-time courses to apply for this scholarship.

“The project is directly funded through the Slieve Kirk Wind Park Regional Fund which was established in 2014. It is refreshing to see that this company is committed to supporting communities through learning and development opportunities.

“Applications for the scheme close on Friday 21st of October so I would advise swift action.”

Cllr Cusack concluded: “If you need any assistance with this, do not hesitate to get in touch.”
