Man attacked in Derry's city centre: police want to hear from any witnesses

Police in Strand Road are appealing for witnesses following the report of an assault on a male in the High Street area of Derry.

At approximately 2.10am on September 10 a 25 year old man was assaulted by an unknown male.

He was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening.

The assailant is described as being approximately 6’ tall, of thin build and wearing a white t-shirt and jeans.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this assault to contact Police at Strand Road Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 1320 20/09/16.

Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.
