New dog waste bin are being installed in a Derry park which has undergone a major transformation.

The bins are being placed around Brooke Park which recently reopened after a major restoration project.

Sinn Féin Councillor Mickey Cooper welcomed the move.

“I am pleased  the work to install the dog waste boxes in Brooke Park has begun. When the park reopened in September a number of people who visited the park asked me if it would be possible to get a couple of dog waste bins installed.

“We all know the issues and dangers that dog waste presents.

“With hundreds of people going through the park on a daily basis and people out walking their dogs it was important there is provision for these boxes.”
