The Western Health Trust today, in partnership with the Cancer Locality in the West Group, formally launched videos highlighting cancer support available in the western area.

This is the first time in Northern Ireland that cancer support information has been co-produced between Health and Social Care and voluntary organisations.

Each of the organisations supported the launch event led by Western Trust Chief Executive Elaine Way, Chairman Niall Birthistle and Co-Chairs of the Western Cancer Locality Group Susan Gibson and Anne Witherow.

Member organisations of the Western Cancer Locality Group include: Action Cancer, Cancer Connect NI, Cancer Focus NI, Derry Well Women, Macmillan Cancer Support and the Pink Ladies.

Community based voluntary organisations have an important role providing emotional and often practical support to people when they receive a cancer diagnosis.

Thee video clips show people who have been affected by cancer how to find the help they need, whether that is spiritual support, counselling, complementary therapies or financial advice.

If there is an issue that you are concerned about, after you receive a cancer diagnosis, throughout treatment or after finishing treatment, organisations are out there to help you.

The clips introduce you to each of the organisation and highlights some of the services that each provides and how it has helped individuals:
