Lisneal College pupil Katie Bye has won the prestigious 'Talent 2030' essay competition.
The Year 9 pupil won for her essay on female innovators, she chose Dr Ann Tsukamoto.
A Lisneal College spokesperson said: "We are delighted to announce that our year 9 pupil at Lisneal College, Katie Bye, has won 'Talent 2030' for her superb essay written about Dr. Ann Tsukamoto.
"Katie was set the task of writing about a female engineer/scientist or innovator that inspires her and her blog about this female scientist and stem cell researcher has certainly made an impression.
"Congratulations to Katie from everyone at#TeamLisneal. We are all very proud of your wonderful achievement."
