A planning application for a new maritime museum in Derry will be lodged this month.
The planned museum is one of the flagship projects for the redeveloped Ebrington Square (pictured)..
It will tell the story of Derry's rich maritime history.
A proposal to take the project forward by submitting a planning application was this afternoon approved at a meeting of Derry City and Strabane District Council's Business and Culture committee.
It will cost the council £12,000 to lodge the planning application.
