A major business conference is to be held in Derry for the first time.
The Northern Ireland Economic Conference has always been hosted in Belfast since it was set up 20 years ago.
However, the conference will be held in Derry's City Hotel (pictured) on October 19 this year.
The event attracts many of the North's leading economic figures and aims to discuss the state of the local economy.
Derry City and Strabane District Council today agreed to provide almost £10,000 for sponsorship of the conference.
