Pupils from a Derry primary school have taken part in a special recycling workshop at the 4Rs Recycling Centre in the city as part of Derry City and Strabane District Council’s Year of Science and Innovation programme.
St Paul’s Primary School in Galliagh was selected as one of the winners of a wood recycling competition organised as part of Council’s Science and Innovation Programme, in which pupils were invited to design a recycled wood installation for their school garden/playground.
The schools were invited to choose from a number of categories incorporating the practice of STEM Subjects including art installation, garden furniture, or nature and play themes with St Paul’s opting for a special Bug Hotel for their school.
The pupils enjoyed a tour of the 4Rs centre and some recycling based activities before seeing the completed work based on their design finally unveiled.
