The death has been announced of Ann McCrea (née Kerrigan), from Meenan Drive in the Bogside, who died suddenly in Malaga in Spain yesterday.
Funeral arrangements for Mrs McCrea, who was in her 60s, will be announced later.
She is survived by her husband Don and her children Sandra, Áine, Paul and Aidan and her grand-children Bébhinn and Oisín.
Paying tribute to Mrs McCrea, her nephew, the entertainer Micky Doherty, described her as the 'rock of our family'.
"We are totally heartbroken," he said.
