Derry City FC and the League of Ireland have issued an appeal to the Shamrock Rovers supporters who stole the Gerard Doherty Testimonial banner from the Brandywell Stadium to now return it.
The banner was stolen during the match between Derry City FC and Shamrock Rovers on Friday night.
The culprits then posted a photograph of themselves with the banner on social media.
A League of Ireland spokesperson said: "We’ve been asked by Derry City to ask Shamrock Rovers supporters who stole the Gerard Doherty Testimonial banner and then posted a photo of themselves with it on social media to please return it.
"If anyone knows anything could you get in touch."
