A 53-year-old man arrested in England in relation to historical nine child sex abuse offences has appeared before a Derry court today.
The man cannot be named to protect the identity of his alleged victim.
The charges against him include two counts of rape, indecent assault, incest, unlawful carnal knowledge and sexual assault. The offences are alleged to have taken place between 1992 and 2009.
Officers from the Child Abuse Investigation Unit assisted by officers from Sussex Police arrested the man at an address in Chichester yesterday, Tuesday, May 8, on suspicion of historic sexual offences committed in Northern Ireland.
The man appeared at Derry Magistrates Court this morning and has been remanded in custody at Maghaberry Prison to appear again via videolink on Thursday, May 31.
