A new mural project is to be launched in Derry’s Creggan estate to celebrate the area’s sporting heroes.
The artwork is being drawn on walls at a row of shops at Central Drive in Creggan.
Among those to feature are footballers James McClean (pictured) and Tony O’Doherty, boxer Charlie Nash, swimmer Liam Ball and Special Olympian David McCauley.
The murals are being drawn by Karl Porter and Donal O’Doherty from UV Arts.
UV Arts is a non-profit social enterprise and urban arts company based at The Playhouse in Derry.
The company aims to build a creative and collaborative environment for the development of peace and reconciliation via engaging and visual street art-inspired community murals.
UV Arts are working on the project in conjunction with the Housing Executive and Creggan Neighbourhood Partnership.
