Sectarian graffiti has been removed from the Nelson Drive area of the Waterside.
The slogans, some of which said 'Taigs Out', were daubed on walls in the area.
The Londonderry ACT Initiative, a conflict transformation group designed to support the reintegration of former paramilitaries into the community, welcomed the removal of the graffiti.
"We totally condemn the appearance of sectarian, intimidating and offensive graffiti that has appeared in the Nelson Drive area," it said.
"We fully support the removal of such graffiti that only serves to undermine the hugely positive work carried out in that community over many years."
The DUP councillor David Ramsey added: "We don't need to be seeing this sort of nonsense anymore and I would like to commend the Londonderry ACT Initiative on the great work they are doing."
