The Housing Executive has been called on to initiate a window replacement scheme in Ballymagroarty area in Derry.

The call comes from Sinn Fein Cllr Eric McGinley who said residents were entitled to expect their properties to be kept to a “reasonable standard.”

He added: “This would also obviously apply to the condition of windows.

“Over a period of time residential properties will begin to display clear signs of wear and tear and this would be the case in relation to the condition of some windows in the Ballymagroarty estate.”

Cllr McGinley revealed he has asked the Housing Executive to provide an assessment of window maintenance in Ballymagroarty with a view to initiating a replacement scheme “at the earliest opportunity.”
