Derry side Trojans have just missed out on retaining their Intermediate League title after being held to a 3-3 draw by Ballymoney United this afternoon.
Going into the last game of the season, the Co Antrim side were two points clear of Trojans at the top of the table so today’s results sees them crowned champions.
Trojans were two goals down but fought back to take the lead with an own goal and strikes from Sean McCarrron (pictured) and Darren McFadden.
However, Peter Cairns’ side, roared on by the home crowd, hit back to get the all-important equaliser.
Trojans’ hopes of a successive treble may be over however, with the League Cup already sitting in their Oakland Park clubrooms, they have a chance of clinching a double when they take on Oxford in the Cup Final at Brandywell on Tuesday night.
