16-year-old boy charged with a litany of offences after a crime spree in a number of estates this week

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with a large number of offences following a crime spree in Derry this week.

The teenager is charged with five counts of burglary, aggravated vehicle taking causing damage to the vehicle, two counts of theft, three counts of criminal damage, assault on police and interference with vehicles.

He is expected to appear before Derry Magistrates Court this morning.

The charges are in connection with a number of incidents of burglary and theft in the Galliagh, Buncrana Road and Ballymagroarty areas of Derry.

Two other men, aged 15 and 20, also arrested at the time have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
