A Co Derry man will this weekend undertake a skydive to raise vital funds for Meningitis Research Foundation (MRF).
Barry Kelly (pictured), from Draperstown, will undertake the feat this Saturday after he was given a voucher for the challenge as a Christmas present by his wife, Larissa.
And he didn’t think twice about taking up the challenge.
He explained: “Meningitis has struck my family four times affecting all three of my kids.
“We are so thankful that all have have come through what can often be a devastating disease and so I wanted to do something to help others affected and support the great work carried out by MRF.
“I’m delighted to have raised over £400 so far and have been humbled by the level of support and encouragement I’ve received however with the help of the local community I would like to double this figure!’
