Family-run firm wins contract for £30 million private housing development

A Derry family-run construction firm is to build the largest housing development in Antrim in more 10 years.

Claudy-hased Hagan has been awarded the £30 million contract to construct 250 private homes at a site at Ballygore Road in Antrim

Construction has already started at the 16.6-acre ‘Ballyveigh’ site and the project will take up to five years to complete.

The first homes will be completed from September this year, with prices starting from approximately. £79,950.

Jamesy Haganm (pictured), managing director, Hagan Homes, said the scheme would be the largest housing development started in Antrim in more than ten years and was a “clear indication\” of the firm’s confidence in the local market.

He added: “It is also a further sign of rejuvenation in the construction sector.”

“The homes are designed to appeal to all demographics, whether first-time buyers, families, young professionals and downsizers, and will include one, two and three bedroom apartments, townhouses, semi-detached and detached homes.”

Mr Hagan added: “Hagan Homes’ aim is to build affordable, quality, stylish homes and achieve this by appointing award-winning architects, interior designers and craftspeople. Our homes are built to be lived in, so the usability of homes has been a primary consideration in the design and build. Hagan Homes reflect the needs of the modern day family and are designed to cater for changing needs as families grow.”

The main contractor for the project is Claudy-based JCL Contracts.
