Fan of the cult classic film The Big Lebowski are set for the ultimate treat as Foyle Film Festival presents a night dedicated to everything that is ‘The Dude’.
Taking place on Thursday, June 23 in Brunswick Moviebowl, the night promises a special evening of dudeness with the film screening at 8pm followed by a quick-fire bowling competition, trivia quiz, prize for the best Dude costume, and special promotions on his favourite beverage.
Since the release of the 1988 classic ‘The Big Lebowski’ film has been recognised as the ultimate ‘hangout’ movie and a sacred text of slackers everywhere. Staring Jeff Bridges, John Goodman, Steve Buscemi and Julianne Moore, the film follows the "Dude" and his bowling buddies on their journey that blends unforgettable characters, kidnapping, a case of mistaken identity and White Russians.
Also, included within the Festival’s ‘The Ultimate Trip: Big Screen Movies to Blow Your Mind’ programme is a double bill screening of High-Rise (Tom Hiddleston, Sienna Millar, Jeremy Irons and Elizabth Moss star) and the 1979 American epic adventure war film Apocalypse Now, set during the Vietnam War on Saturday, June 18.
It’ll be followed by a double bill screening of Mad Max and Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior on Saturday, July 2.
